The look- out tower stands on high ground at the northern edge of Frýdlant.
It is 20 m high, and was built in 1907 by the town´s beautification association on the site of a wooden watchtower dating to 1890.
The tower and the area around it has been maintained by the Frýdlant tourist group for many years.
